Sunday Chillin

Walkning through St. James Park in order to get to see the women's cycling finale.

Officially part of the Olympics after watching the start of the women's line cycling finale just outside of Buckingham Palace!!!
Happy times.
Tons of people had gathered along the roads trying to catch a glimpse of the olympic athletes!
Viewing the video of the spectacle. (will post it!)

In Belgravia. The wealthiest community in London.

OMG, thank god they found Banksy Moon (pay attention to the fact that he has a first and last name, that's a sign of a cat with some serious money!). In Belgravia people actually spend their money on pet detectives. Click the picture in order to enlarge it and read the whole thing, hillarious.
In Belgravia it is not beer cans that gets thrown along the wayside after a night out, it is champagne boxes.

London Bridge hang out.

At a restaurant just by the Themes.

The Olympic rings that hang from the London Bridge. During the day they are folded up, but during the evening they hang down and are lit. Will try and snap a picture of that!
Big screen TV showing the Olympics.

Finally my very much longed for: Mocha cookie crumble frappucino!

Hackney for the win

Saturday we ended up at the best we have club visited so far!! The Dolphin, in Hackney. Great music, great people and an awesome venue. Already planned a visit next saturday again.

Before we ended up in Hackney we hung out at a bar in Angel. Angel is supposed to be a really good area to spend the night, and plenty of people have recommended it as a good place to be. However, we had not done proper reasearch before going there so we ended up at a random bar and then decided to continue to Hackney. We will explore Angel further once more extensive research is made. London is huge and the information "there are good places in Angel" does only get you so far.

The Torch

OOOOOOOOOOOOO I SAW THE OLYMPIC TORCH. On my way to work, heading off from the network event, I managed to perfectly schedule a glimpse of the torch. This might be the biggest achievement of my life.. might. Great atmosphere anyhow, the torch appears about 1 minute in to the clip.

Meetup

I had THE best day today. This morning, before work, I went to a networking event in Soho for people working with media. I was a bit anxious at first.. "who to talk to?, will anyone talk to me? am i interesting enough?".

It turned out to be a really awesome event, and i am so happy i went even though i was doubting my decision when heading there. The venue was on a roof top terrance and we were served Mimosa (Bella: mimosa at dawn!!), croissants, sandwiches and coffee. Everything for free. There were about 30 people, who all had signed up through meetup.com, which by the way is the best website ever! It is a website for people living in London and anyone within the community can start an event that anyone can attend. Every event has a nische. Some are for new girls in the city(joined!), some are for entrepreneurs, others for art lovers, some for italian speaking people(i joined, might as well refresh my italian when in UK), some for the gay community, some for business networking and so on and so on. The greatest website for people who are new in town or just want to meet people.

Any how, I met some really nice people at the event, movie producers, reporters, 3D effect guys and a girl who had an agency for actors. A truly random crowd but i loved it!! Will meet up with one of the girls for drinks.

And YES, we did wear name tags.
