Tea Rooms
These pretty cake stands along with other beautiful antiques are to be found in The Tea Rooms on Brick Lane. Open Saturdays 11-6 and Sundays 10-5.
If life gives you lemons - make...
Lemon meringue pie. My biggest craving. Back home in Lund, Sweden, I know exactly where to go to get Lemon meringue perfection. Patisseriet.
NOW I have found the equivalent in London, if not slightly better.
Not as aesthetically appealing as the Swedish version but it tasted like a piece of heaven. The meringue was fluffy but still a bit sticky and the lemon filling was a bit looser than the one at Patisseriet but it was a 10 out of 10 pastry for sure. Defenitely becoming a E5 regular Saturdays.
Traveller of the Century
Walking to Broadway Market takes me about 30 minutes. The walk to get there is absolutely beautiful ,walking alongside Regent's canal for the entire stroll. House boats reside along most of the canal and some of them sell food, vintage clothes or books.
Just before I took off for the market, right before Goldsmiths row, I found the cutest book shop I have ever come across. Ended up buying a £3 book that I read while eating all that delicisous food.
Broadway Market
Had the most amazing Saturday off as I went to Broadway Market in east London.
The market is mainly a food market but has vintage and craft stalls as well.
Prices are a tad bit on the more expensive side but the selection is amazing and all dishes look simply delicious. Sourdough bread, roasts to eat on the go, scotch eggs, home made jam and everything in between is on the tip of your fingers, which makes the decision regarding what to eat extremely difficult.
I settled for a mini cupcake with salted caramel flavour from Violets cakes.Could not really taste the salt so the overall experience was in the end a bit disappointing.
I also bought myself falafel, which was amazing, and a spinach / feta cheese burek that I enjoyed in the sun in London Fields.

Samphire
Samphire.
This plant is used in stocks and broths because of their salty taste. They taste great as healthy snacks as well, the taste resembles some what of salty sugar snaps.
Billingsgate Fish Market
Morning person? Then, you have got to head out to London's best fish market: Billingsgate, during saturdays. It opens around 4 in the morning and it is the place where all chefs from restaurants in London go to buy seafood for their menu.
In order to bring something with you home I advice you to be there before 6.30.
I went there this saturday and came home with 2 kilos of crayfish for £9. A true bargain, however be sure to scrutinize what ever you are buying. I could only make use of less than a fourth of what I bought sincethe rest of them were dead when arriving home. However this could be due to the amount of time it took us to cook them from the time we got home. A bit too much dill were used otherwise they turned out great. Beer, salt and samphire (an edible plant that grows along coastlands) where put in to give flavour. We even managed to get hold of Skåne schnaps at Scandinavian Kitchen.
Change of plan
I have decided to turn this blog in to a website focusing on London rather than myself.
From now on I will treat the blog as a website where blog readers can find tips of cool London hang outs, the tastiest London food and the best shops and bars in the city.

Outside the office
I now work as a receptionist at The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. I got lovely collegues and am located in the middle of the vibrant area of Brick Lane which is crowded with interesting people and cool bars, shops and Cafés. The Old Truman owns most of the venues around brick lane and at the events office, where i work, we arranges events in these venues. Anything from Absolut Vodka who is hosting an interactive event for the public on one of the yards, to shooting films on roof tops or hosting pop-up shops in the boutiques.
On my way to work: Mini Frapuccino sample
Having lunch while listening to these guys on a square close buy
From insidie one of the industrial locations we offer
I work Sundays, which is amazing since all the food markets in the area are up and running.
Lunch: spring rolls and freshly squeezed watermelon, strawberry and apple juice
One of the markets Truman hosts. Amazing clothes for reasonable prices.
Juice from my new favourite hang out. Apple and ginger flavoured. Can't remember the name of the place now, on Brick Lane though.
Afternoon tea with a view
We went to National Portrait Gallery and enjoyed an amazing session of Afternoon Tea, with a lovely view of London Eye, Trafalgar Square and Big Ben
Notting hill carnival and mini pancakes in Camden
Notting Hill Carnival is on every year and is basically a huge street festival in the area around Notting Hill. Stages put up in the streets, bloody mary sold out of apartments, parade and all with a caribean feel to it
Jerk chicken
Bloody Mary's
Unbelievably tasty pancakes in Camden
They were drained in nutella, nuts and coco
